'This is Paradise' Layout by Helen Tilbury

Me again!  HELEN here!!  The last layout I'm sharing with you
this month is one I created using this months sketch from Paperhaus.

I used a couple of lovely neutral Purple Pumpkin elements in here,
can you spot them?  Firstly I used the suede flower to the left of
the layout, which I cut into 3/4 & 1/4 & used the smaller piece
down to the right under the fussy-cut flower stack.

Cutting your flowers is a great way to make your stash go further,
and if you are going to have them looking like they are coming
out from under something (like here where mine looks like it is
coming out from under the photo) you may aswell not waste any
part of it so rather cut it up & use your extra piece elsewhere!

Here you can see the music note button I used peeking out at
the top right.  I inked it up with brown ink & sponged some
gesso on the top of it too.

Above you can see the smaller part of the suede flower peeking
out from under the other fussy-cut paper flowers.

I can't see this flower in the store at the moment but I did come
across these awesome fancy bling-centred flowers HERE -
I think those look pretty awesome!!  And you can buy the button
I used HERE.  That's a link to the exact XL one I used - I find
them very handy for layering under things & adding dimension.

I have lots more close up & instructions up on my blog for this
layout if anyone is interested in how I created it & what I used.

Thanks for looking & I would love to know if any of you have
thought of cutting up your flowers too!  I hope you will try it!!

Guest designer "Sharmaine Kruijver" !!xx

Our guest designer for May is the super talented lady Sharmaine Kruijver!!!
Enjoy!!xx

About Me:I’m Sharmaine, from Tasmania. I’m married to Darling Dave and we have 4 girls who keep us very busy. I also work as a relief Teacher’s Assistant. My first scrap page was made in 2005 and I just love being able to breathe life into photos and stories. My pages are usually full of life and colour, most are meaningful and some are funny. Life inspires me to create, whether it’s snippets of our day, remembering something said or documenting my thoughts. I’m fortunate to be able to create as a design team member for Cocoa Daisy, Scrapmatts and X-Press It. My bloggy home is http://skruijver.blogspot.com where I often share my work, videos and photos daily. I am grateful for the opportunity to create and share with you all here.

About my layout:
One of my favourite creative processes is to just play. This page was created quickly because I just let loose and played. The background was created with some watered down mist. The papers and stickers are from Basic Grey and everything else is from Purple Pumpkin. Love the combination of textures and layers. I’ve used fabric covered flair, metal flair, pink and blue tickets and the ruler washi tape, all from Purple Pumpkin.

****

About my card:
When I spied the colour of the crocheted doilies I knew I wanted to make a card with an organic colour combination. I used the doilies, blue tickets and some of the ruler washi tape with some paint, cardstock, alpha stickers and a page from an old dictionary to create this card.

Thank you very much Sharmaine for all the inspiration!!!
It was a great pleasure to have you with us this month!!!
Happy scrapping everyone!!xx

Rainbows and Buttons!

Hi everyone! Lisa here sharing my first designer post here at Purple Pumpkin and I am SO excited! I have a couple of things to share with you today and have to say I am already hooked on the special touch the buttons, doilies and cute kids flair have already made on these projects!

This first page is all about celebrating and the spotty fabric buttons really added the perfect touch on this page!!

"you are 10"

The doilie and the cute little kids flair just added to the sweetness of the pictures of my girl... and the sweet story I was sharing about her.

Lastly, I created a sweet mini album with the cover just made perfect using the crochet doilie and the flair. I love how cute this little summer mini became when I placed them on the front!

"surprise"

I so enjoyed these sweet embellishments and hope you check them out in the store, too!

38 Years by Karen Grose

Hello Purple Pumpkin followers, I hope you're all having a great week.  Today I'm sharing with you my latest PP creation that was for this month's challenge at Scrap Friends.

38 YEARS

This time I've only used a couple of PP embellies, as I wanted the Tulle Bling Flower to be the "hero" on the page.  I love this flower.  I'm not one to use flowers very often, but this is stunning.  I've also used one of the resin flowers up the top corner.  So cute, and goes well with everything.  I love how PP embellies are so versatile.

A close up of the resin flower.

And my new favourite PP embellie - The Tulle Bling Flower.  Simply gorgeous, and at $1.50 each, an absolute bargain.  Make sure you visit the shop and stock up before they are all gone !!!

That's it for me today.  I hope I've inspired you in some small way :)  Don't forget that you still have a few days to get your sketch LO in for this month.  Would love to see a few more gorgeous entries this month.

Until next time, happy scrapping x

Sugar And Spice By Julianne McKenna-De Lumen

Welcome to the start of another week! Julianne here today to share a layout filled with lots of Purple Pumpkin embellishments. It's amazing how easy it is to add Purple Pumpkin products to a layout - if anything, the problem is stopping!!! Yes, I definitely need to restock after a month of creating with such awesome products - I'm already running low, lol!

"SUGAR AND SPICE"
I created this layout as part of my monthly DT projects for PaperHaus magazine. And it is absolutely filled and overflowing with Purple Pumpkin goodies.

I started with the purple ribbon flower - I decided that would be my central feature, and I built my layout from there. I tucked a purple crocheted doily in behind the ribbon flower, and added a yellow heart fabric button, to help tie in all the yellow features on the layout.

On this layout you will also find a Purple Pumpkin felt heart, crocheted mini flowers, twine, kraft tag, and yellow ticket. I just kept layering, and tucking in, all the Purple Pumpkin products. They matched so perfectly with the Bo-Bunny C'est La Vie papers.

And my final touch was this beautiful wooden button with purple violets. I love violets - they are one of my favourite flowers, so I just couldn't resist including this button on my layout.

Thank-you for joining me today. I hope I've inspired you to get creative this week.
And don't forget to enter our Purple Pumpkin sketch competition.
You have until the end of the month, and yes, you can still play even if you don't have any Purple Pumpkin products. We would love to see your creations!!!

A little Purple Pumpkin to spruce up a brown paper bag...by Yvonne Yam

Since I started crafting, gift-giving always has to include a handmade touch. Even a brown paper bag needs to be adorned. *winks*

All you need are some patterned paper scraps and Purple Pumpkin embellishments and your brown paper bag can go from plain to cute! Do check out the wide array of fabric buttons, tickets and yummy washi tape at the store. :)

Cheers,
Yvonne

School swim comp by Judith

Good morning. Today I have a layout to share with you that I did for a recent sketch challenge. The photos are of my son competing in the school swimming competition. I decided to go with the primary colours of the boundaries of the swimming lanes for my colours.  Purple Pumpkin has so many bright embellishments, which is what I love about them.

I have used a PP Blue Swimfast Flair button. This particular one isn't available now but there are a number of swim themed Flair buttons in the shop. I also grounded the embellishment on some red zigzag washi tape.

Here I used an aqua crochet doily for my title base.

So that's it from me today. Hope the rest of your week goes great.

Take care

Judithxx

'Laugh' Layout by Helen Tilbury

Hello again!!  HELEN here sharing a layout that
went up on the Sketchbook 365 blog recently!

Of course I had to make sure I 'snuck' some of my favourite
Purple Pumpkin bits & pieces onto my page didn't I?!

Can you spot the Purple Pumpkin?
It's quite subtle this time but it's there!

I've used some washi tape (the stripy stuff) in a few places.
I find that it looks best when you tear the end rather than cutting it.
Did you know there's a great deal on on WASHI at the moment?
Washi Stacks are only $5 for THREE - that's a steal!
Head on over HERE & grab yours!!
They are selling FAST!!!

These little tickets are great for adding an extra layer & look effective
whether used singly or a few at a time.  Again they're a bargain
at $1.50 for TWENTY!!  Go HERE...

I'm really HAPPY with the little "idea" I had here!
Using Purple Pumpkin twine to hand-stitch lines for hand journaling!
I was wanting to incorporate the twine somewhere but with this cleaner style
page a bow just didn't seem like the right way to go...then it hit me LOL!!

Again twine is another GREAT VALUE item available HERE
in the Purple Pumpkin store, at only $1.75 for 5 metres!!
Tonnes of colours available too & I just love the subtle
texture that it adds don't you?

Well that's it from me today ladies!
I was feeling a bit chatty but I will leave you now to get on
with your Purple Pumpkin sketch - looking forward to seeing
what you come up with this month - Cheers!!

This Is My Mother by Julianne McKenna-De Lumen

Welcome to all our Purple Pumpkin fans. Are you ready for the start of another week filled with lots of creativity and inspiration? Then lets' start the week off with a layout that is all about the little details...and those owl flair buttons!!!

"THIS IS MY MOTHER"
I created this layout using the monthly sketch from Sketches With A Twist. The twist challenge was to use a Mother's Day themed photo. I was recently lucky enough to get my hands on a new range of papers by Tilda, and the beautiful details and papers were perfect for this project.

Using a Twiddleybitz chipboard piece as my background feature, I then added banners, flowers, and journalling, along with lots of fussy cutting. If you look closely, you can find two Purple Pumpkin crocheted flowers tucked in amongst all the paper flowers.

I couldn't resist using this Purple Pumpkin owl flair button. How much cuteness can one button have?!?!?
And I used two Purple Pumpkin resin flowers as part of all my little details. One is tucked in beside the flair button, and the other is used as a feature on the chipboard butterfly.

If you would like to add any of these gorgeous embellishments to your own collection, you can find them all in the Purple Pumpkin store, right here.

Don't forget to drop by tomorrow, and every day this week, for more wonderful inspiration from our Design Team members.

Thank-you for your company today! It has been a pleasure sharing this layout with you.

Love You Beyond Measure by Debbie

Hi everyone, Debbie here today to share a layout I created using some Purple Pumpkin embellishments! I created this layout for the Black and White + One Color Challenge at Frosted Designs!
I've been busy going through my stash, and  I will admit that I have a hugh stash, and came across the Yours Truly collection by Echo Park, perfect for the challenge.
Here I have used a red fabric Purple Pumpkin button.

I cut my red felt and lace flower in half and used it here along with one of my favorites, a red heart fabric button.

Here I have tucked the other half of the red felt and lace flower along with a large spotty fabric button.

And here I have placed a red and white spotty fabric button.

The forecast for the weekend is rain, rain and more rain.  Perfect for hanging out in my scrapbook room and working on a few layouts!

I hope I have inspired you.
Don't forget our May Sketch Challenge.
Your can find all of the details here.

Have fun creating!

"Spring has sprung" - Vicky Varvadouka

"Spring Has Sprung"

This layout was made for "Scrapbook magazine" and it had the theme
"Spring". In my part of the world, spring has sprung!!!

For this background, I have used some Scrapmatts chipboard butterflies
as a mask and sprayed with various colours!! I cut the white cardstock about an inch (2cm) all around and placed it in the middle of the patterned paper. I placed a stencil and applied gesso over it. I sprayed and splashed here and there. I cut the paper into strips and created a banner. After that, I just placed the photos and started building the clusters around them!

Some tips:
1) When your patterned paper is too busy, use white cardstock to soften the colours of your composition! Don’t let the rest of your paper go wasted, cut off the middle piece that doesn’t show and use it to make photo mats or embellishments (like the banner for instance)
2) To attach the banner strips to the twine, fold the top over the twine and use a stapler.
3) Always paint your chipboard white before adding colour! It will show better!

4) If you don’t have a stencil, use your chipboard pieces as a mask like I did with the butterfly

5) If you don’t have a spatula, use an old credit card.

Thanks for visiting!
Enjoy the weekend!!
